Merina Martin is CareLineLive’s Homecare Champion (formerly our Product Manager) which makes her the person in charge of managing the development of new features for our software.
Merina monitors which features are most often requested by our customers. She also researches any regulatory and legislative requirements which relate to new features liaising with customers to ascertain exactly what they require.
Her role means that she works closely with our development and sales teams to make sure that everyone involved understands what we are looking to achieve.
What did you do before working at CareLineLive?
I have worked in tech development since 2016. Prior to this I worked in domiciliary care in a variety of roles including, Nominated Individual and Registered Manager, business development and troubleshooting, supporting and mentoring managers and their teams.
Why did you join CareLineLive?
I’ve known Josh our managing director and the team for some years and love the vision and ethos of the company. We’re extremely customer and employee focused and this is something that is very important for me.
Best part of the job
Firstly, working with a team of like-minded people who are knowledgeable and great to be around. Secondly, knowing that the features that we are developing make business management and service delivery much more efficient and person-centred.
Worst part of the job
Lockdown and not being in the office, I like the office camaraderie and being with the team.
What is something that people in home care have to deal with that you want to help fix?
Gosh, where do I start? We have a lot of issues in health and social care so at a higher level, much more funding for vulnerable people would be great so that providers can give them more time. Social isolation is a huge problem for many people using services. The use of technology means that more time can be spent with service users.
At grass roots level, I want to see technology used as a tool to support providers to deliver great care. There are still a significant percentage of providers that are paper based which hinders communication somewhat. Realtime communication of information is key and we already provide this for our customers within our platform. However, integration with the NHS, and key stakeholders is what we should be aiming for. Certainly at CareLineLive, this is part of our vision.
Fun fact about you
In my time away for CLL, I do wedding and occasion hair which is relaxing and fun. What could be nicer than being part of a person’s special day, gives me a lot of joy!
