What did you do before working at CareLineLive?

For a number of years I worked in domiciliary care in a variety of roles including, Nominated Individual and Registered Manager, business development and troubleshooting, supporting and mentoring managers and their teams. I have also worked in tech development initially in 2016 and I’ve been with CareLineLive since 2020.

Why did you join CareLineLive?

I’ve known Josh our managing director and the team for some years and love the vision and ethos of the company. We’re extremely customer and employee focused and this is something that is very important for me.

Best part of the job

Firstly, working with a team of like-minded people who are knowledgeable and great to be around. Secondly, I love researching and writing interesting articles for our current and prospective customers.

Worst part of the job

I don’t really have a ‘worsts part of my job’. I miss not being in the office as much as I used to be, I’m a real people person.

What is something that people in home care have to deal with that you want to help fix?

Gosh, where do I start? We have a lot of issues in health and social care so at a higher level, much more funding for vulnerable people would be great so that providers can give them more time. Social isolation is a huge problem for many people using services. The use of technology means that more time can be spent with service users.

At grass roots level, I want to see technology used as a tool to support providers to deliver great care. There are still a significant percentage of providers that are paper based which hinders communication somewhat. Realtime communication of information is key and we already provide this for our customers within our platform. However, integration with the NHS, and key stakeholders is what we should be aiming for. Certainly at CareLineLive, this is part of our vision.

Fun fact about you

I love connecting with nature and spend a lot of time exploring the amazing beaches, forests, lakes and rivers of the North East. Britain’s best kept secret!
