The search for a better system
Lynette had been partially digital for two years, but their old software just wasn’t cutting it anymore. It lacked essential features like mileage tracking, holiday calculations and full document storage. As they took on more clients, the system wasn’t coping anymore. So she contacted the Department of Health and Social Care who had a list of home care management system suppliers and they booked a few demos. After trialling different systems, CareLineLive stood out as the clear winner, one of the reasons being all the features that ticked all their needs.
“It had all the basics we needed and more, and my deputy manager and I knew this was the right move as all staff shared the same opinion.” says Lynette.
Easy transition, full support
Switching to a new system can be daunting, but Cavendish Homecare found the transition surprisingly smooth.
“We set up a clear five-to-six-week timeframe to get set up, and every staff member got involved.” Lynette explains.
With training, ongoing support and an easy-to-use interface, the team quickly got up to speed even the ones who were away during this time for medical reasons or maternity leave. They could book additional training on their return.
“All I can say is, hand on heart, we’ve had 100% support from CareLineLive to do that transition quickly, effectively and safely.”
Carers and families love it!
The real game-changer? The CareLineLive mobile app.
“Our carers absolutely love it! They can access care plans, previous visit notes, emergency contacts: everything they need to provide the best care, before they even walk through the service users’ door.” says Lynette.
And families? The Care Circle app has been a lifesaver.
“We used to get daily calls from one client’s family, worried if their mum had received care. Suffering with dementia, their mum couldn’t recall if a carer had visited her on a daily basis. And now, no more calls because her family can see all the care that is provided in real time.”
More capacity, smarter recruitment
Since implementing CareLineLive in June 2024, Cavendish Homecare has increased its care capacity by 25%.
“We can now visually see gaps in the rota, identify where we need more staff and what skills we need and then recruit accordingly. Last month alone, we hired five new carers – an increase of 15%!”
Staying CQC compliant and tracking training with ease
CareLineLive has also made compliance and training management seamless.
“We can log and track all carer training, supervision logs and reviews in one place.” explains Lynette. “During CQC inspections, we can instantly pull up training records and match them with certificates stored in the system. It’s made compliance stress-free and ensures our carers stay fully trained and up to date.”
Growing with GP Connect
The system is now set to go live with GP Connect, providing real-time access to service users’ GP records.
“This will be another game-changer for us. Having instant, accurate medical information will make our care delivery even stronger.” says Lynette.
The bottom line
CareLineLive has streamlined payroll, automated admin, improved rota planning, simplified compliance and given the team the tools to grow.
“It’s one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. We absolutely love CareLineLive, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.”
