We spoke to Ali Sharif, Director of Operations, at the Sunlight Care Group, about what made them choose CareLineLive and how it has benefited their business.

Sunlight Care Group was established in 2018. With a head office in London, its home care operations serve the boroughs of Newham and Redbridge and they also have a residential care home in Nottingham. Their home care offering centres on services to the elderly and vulnerable, but they specialise in Mental Health and also children’s services. It’s a growing business – they have over 250 customers, nearly 200 staff and carry out over 3000 hours of care per week across the two boroughs.

What were your reasons for moving to CareLineLive from your previous system?

Unlike our previous system, we were looking for a system that was user friendly and could integrate with CM2000. I was very impressed with the sales process, I liked the demo that showed how easy CareLineLive was to use, so much so that we knew our frontline staff would not have any problems using it. The pricing was also competitive which was important to us and the team at CareLineLive have been very responsive and their support has been great throughout the onboarding process.

What have been the main benefits that CareLineLive has delivered to your business?

It’s very reliable and has never let us down unlike our previous system. We use the travel time estimates to roster our visits and its user interfaces are very intuitive so it’s been quick to learn.

We like the fact that the Care Circle Portal gives families access to care notes and visit details but the biggest benefit is that it is user friendly for all – family, staff, everyone.

By using CareLineLive – and we don’t yet use 100% of its features – it makes our life a lot easier. Our old system was a lot more manual, with CareLineLive, our processes are more automated so it’s reduced our workload. I also like the feature where carers can voice record handover notes for the next carer to ensure continuity of care.

What features or extensions, if any, did CareLineLive develop to make sure the system is suitable for your own requirements?

As we use CM2000 in one borough and Abacus in another for accounting, we needed to integrate CareLineLive with both of those systems, which was facilitated with ease.

How does CareLineLive help you and your team share information with each other?

The CareLineLive Carer Companion app has been really good, it’s so user friendly as carers can read all the information they need – we share support plans and use the app to communicate with carers and send notifications to them. Carers cannot say that they don’t have the information as it is always on hand, and up to date.

What are the main benefits your carers enjoy by using the Carer Companion App? What results have you seen from using CareLineLive so far?

With our previous system only 35-40% of the staff were using it to help them, with CareLineLive, 70% of our staff are using the system so compliance has almost doubled. The fact that our younger and older staff members are able to use it is hugely positive for our company.

We showed CareLineLive to our local authority in Redbridge and they were also impressed with its features and interfaces.

What do you think of the support that CareLineLive offers your company?

The support offered is one of the main reasons that we went with CareLineLive. The team are responsive – they will always get back to you and they are always open to suggestions. There is never a time that we need to revert to manual back-ups with CareLineLive as it is so reliable.
