What does a Sales Development Representative (SDR) do?
A sales development representative (SDR) is a sales representative responsible for outreach, prospecting, and qualifying leads.
Describe a typical day
I typically begin my day with an internal meeting where I catch up with my team, receive updates on company news and explore new business opportunities, all while enjoying a nice cup of coffee to start my day! The rest of my day is spent connecting with potential clients, building relationships, booking and introducing demonstrations.
What did you do before joining CareLineLive?
From 2014 to 2023, I worked as a Business Development Manager for an Autodesk software reseller and training centre. My job involved selling new software and subscription renewals, scheduling training courses, and managing the training diary. I was responsible for prospecting new business, engaging with new prospects, and nurturing the existing customer database.
It was great to join a growing company! When I joined in July CareLineLive had just been approved as an NHSx Assured Supplier, and then soon after we acquired Ulysses and CareForIT and just recently we’ve just launched in Australia making it a very exciting time to be part of a welcoming team!

What do you enjoy most about working at CareLineLive?
I am fortunate to be a part of an excellent team!
I enjoy seeing prospects turn into happy customers; I recently met one of the first customers I helped to sign up for CareLineLive at The Care Show held at the NEC in Birmingham. It was an excellent opportunity to catch up with them and discuss how CareLineLive has positively impacted their business.
What is something that people in home care have to deal with that you want to help fix?
It’s a very busy industry so seeing care providers with a system that helps them save time and money!
Surprising or a fun fact about you
Sylvia is a very modest person and I (Marie) really struggled to get anything more out of her regarding surprising facts. The best I can do is share the cake that colleague Colleen Pearce made for Sylvia’s birthday which says it all about the regard in which her workmates hold her.
