Attendance Records

Accurate attendance records

The Carer Companion mobile app tracks carer attendance times with precision. This records check-in and check-out times and location via GPS. Alerts are raised for missed and late visits. The system shows alerts in the management portal. It does this when the location doesn’t match the user’s address. It also sends alerts when visit durations are too long or short.

Task management

Create detailed tasks (including medication) for each visit. Included is a summary of the care plan and tasks instructing carers on what is required by the client. Carers record how each task has been completed. If not, they can’t check out of the visit. The system will alert for missed tasks. It will also alert when certain tasks lack the expected statuses.

It provides a complete and real-time record of the care given to a service user. This gives peace of mind to agencies, carers, and family that the required care is being delivered.

Record health observations to keep a full clinical record

Carers can record observations in the Carer Companion app. These include blood glucose, pressure, meal and fluid intake, and heart rate. Also, weight, catheter output, bowel movements, and injuries. Many of these observations can be viewed visually which allows quick trend analysis to be done.

Completion statuses are recorded to enable alerts to be raised. Updates are immediately visible to managers and stakeholders in the Care Circle portal. This allows for quick intervention if needed. Body map records also allow some of this data to be recorded visually.

Observations
Visit Notes

Visit notes, concerns and incident reports

Carers can record notes and comments in various scenarios. Handover notes are created to give detail to the next carer so that they have relevant information for their visit.

Check out notes give a summary of a visit. They show what happened so that the office and loved ones using the Care Circle portal can see it. Concerns can be raised when recording observations and notes, so that care managers can take appropriate action. Incidents can also be recorded in a similar way.

FAQ

Questions on eMAR and electronic visit records

What does eMAR mean?

eMAR stands for electronic Medication Administration Record, or electronic patient record.

It is a digital system that replaces traditional paper-based medication (MAR) charts.

How does eMAR improve care?

eMAR systems help reduce medication errors, improve efficienty, enhance patient safety and enable better communication for care providers, patients and their families. eMAR also helps with regulatory compliance.

How is eMAR used in a home care setting?

The eMAR is available to carers on their mobile carer companion app which means they don’t have to pick up a paper MAR sheet from the agency office.

Carers recorde the time any medication is given along with dosage and other information to the MAR chart. The time stamped record is stored electronically and the patient record then updated in real time to be accessed in the management portal or the friends and family portal along with subsequent carers via the carer app. Comments and photos can also be added.

The eMAR can also be used as a key part of the care plan and will form part of the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

How does eMAR and electronic visit records improve efficiency?

eMAR streamlines the administration of medication and updates patient records in real time.

Automated reminders provide alerts for medication refills and renewals.

With CareLineLive a digital record is made of each visit from check in to checkout with data updating in real time to the management portal and friends and family portal. There is no need for a carer to travel to and from an office with paper notes of the care plan or care visits.

How does eMAR improve patient safety?

eMAR enables improved monitoring by tracking medication adherence and patient responses.

It provides carers with clear information about medication and how it is to be administered.

Electronic records do away with handwritten notes which can be misread.

The system can also highlight medication contraindications and flag patients with allergies to specific medications, preventing adverse reactions.

How does eMAR and electronic visit records help with regulatory (CQC) compliance?

eMAR simplifies record keeping, auditing and reporting with automated documentation that is available at any time in the future at the click of a button.

It provides easier tracking and supports adherence to regulatory standards and guidelines from bodies such as the CQC or Care Inspectorate.
